The Berkana Institute of Massage Therapy is located in the heart of the historic Wyman District in Denver Colorado in the Hugh D. McAllister House. The Institute offers a basic 545-hour accelerated and intensive comprehensive education in Massage Therapy as well as a 250-hour advanced training program in Mindful Expressionism, the Berkana Method of Normalization of Soft Tissue technique. Jill Kristin Berkana LMT, NCBTMB is the Director of the Institute, and founded the Institute in 2011. Jill Kristin Berkana is approved by the National Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a Continuing Education Approved Provider.

The Institute offers an ongoing basic and accelerated Massage Therapy Certification Day Program three times per year, an ongoing basic Massage Therapy Certification Evening Program, and an Advanced Specialization Program in the Berkana Method of Mindful Expressionism in one 6 week intensive session.

The foundational Berkana Institute 545 Hour Massage Therapy Certification Program is designed to prepare students to successfully pass the United States National Certification Exam for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCE), and the Federation of State Massage Therapy Board Exam (MBLEX). Individuals who pass one or both of these exams are qualified to pursue many career opportunities available to Massage Therapists. The Berkana Institute is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association Council of Schools, a member of the Alliance for Massage Therapy Education, and is approved and regulated by the Colorado State Department of Education's Division of Private Occupational Schools.

Massage courses are held in various special classrooms at the charming mansion: in the dining room, the ballroom, the bodywork experiential floor, and the Berkana Massage Therapy Studio. The Berkana Massage Therapy Studio offers affordable massage therapy treatments to the public as part of the student practical internship.

Every day of the training has been designed to support and accelerate the evolution of each student. In order to complete the massage training necessary to meet the requirements of the National Certification Board and the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards, many massage therapy schools will pace the massage therapy classes over the course of eight months to one year or more. The Berkana Institute of Massage Therapy and its students are able to realize an equal level of achievement in a shorter amount of time, as the students invited to attend are totally committed to this intensive education, as are the instructors and administration. Many massage therapy schools will provide far more hours than are necessary to meet the national standard which takes considerably more time, raises tuition costs and is not needed for an entry level therapist to acquire their license. The Berkana Massage Therapy Basic Program has "dialed in" exactly what is required to be licensed. Most massage therapists will pursue specialization by furthering themselves in Continuing Education after they attend a foundational program.
