Colorado Massage School | 600 – 675 Hour Comprehensive Holistic Program
The Department of Regulatory Agencies in Colorado (DORA) has determined that to be a Licensed Massage Therapist in the State of Colorado, an applicant must have completed a 500 Hour Program of Comprehensive Study at an approved massage school.
500 Hours has been the National Average since massage therapy has been regulated in the United States. Recently, a report called the ELAP or Entry Level Analysis Project was released which recommends that an entry level massage therapy program be at least 625 Hours.
It is anticipated that in the next 3 – 5 years State Regulatory Agencies will adopt this recommendation. The Massage Therapy Certification Program at the Berkana Institute of Massage Therapy is 600 Hours. There are 75 Hours of Electives Available during the 5 month term.
